Ja'Tez Gardner, a Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MMIS) graduate student, will attend a scholarship luncheon hosted by the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation on Wednesday, November 5 where he will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship. The luncheon will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

Gardner is the first MMIS student to have been selected for this award from the JHJ School. In addition to being a full-time student Gardner is an entrepreneur and has started his own business.

“Winning this award has given me confidence and confirmation that I can do anything I put my mind to and work hard towards,” Gardner shared. “This scholarship will be used towards tuition, books, and my entrepreneurial endeavors.”

Gardner wants to become a programmer for a Fortune 500 company, but his short term goal is to gain IT experience as an intern. He is a member of the Graduate Student Association.
