H-BAD is a long standing progressive organization dedicated to building a strong political power base focusing on issues that directly affect the Black community in Houston. H-BAD is the only majority African American group sanctioned by the Harris County Democratic Party.

Mr. Pollard succeeds former Houston City Council-Woman Carol Mims Galloway.

Pollard graduated with honors from Morehouse College and Thurgood Marshall Law School. He is an Associate at The Harris Law Firm owned by fellow Alumnus, Attorney Michael Harris. He is married to Thurgood Marshall Law School Alumnus, Vanessa Butler Pollard who is in private practice.

Pollard is the Son of Dr. Dianne Jemison Pollard, long time Theatre Professor at TSU, presently serving as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in The Thomas F. Freeman Honors College.
