Grambling State University Will Award $50,000 in Student Scholarships from Allstate and the Tom Joyner Foundation Quotes for Education Program

For the second year in a row, Grambling State University will award $50,000 in student scholarships on February 5, thanks to the many online supporters who voted for Grambling to win the Allstate Quotes for Education fan vote for school pride.
Allstate and the Tom Joyner Foundation have partnered together to raise scholarship funds for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).  For every person who received an insurance quote from a participating Allstate agent and mentioned “Quotes for Education,” Allstate donated $10.

For the third year of the program, people could vote for the HBCU of their choice to receive a $50,000 donation for scholarships. Grambling State University fans showed the most ‘school pride’ by voting online for their favorite HBCU from August to November 2014.  Grambling supporters employed social media tools, as well as word-of-mouth networking, to successfully engage alumni, students, faculty and staff in the fan vote campaign.

The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the T.H. Harris Auditorium at Grambling State University.  The presentation will be attended by Thomas Joyner, Jr., the foundation’s president and CEO, Grambling State University Interim President Cynthia Warrick, and local Allstate agent Carlos Boston.
