TeAndre Roberts, a Computer Science major with a minor in Mathematics from Kissimmee, Florida was given the opportunity to complete an internship at Iowa State University this summer in their Virtual Reality Center. Roberts was selected for this highly competitive 10-week long internship at Iowa State University to develop biodegradable biosensors that have the ability to detect salmonella in meat products prior to them being shipped off to consumers across the country. Roberts research was presented in August and he anticipates the publication of his research findings.

During the summer internship, Roberts also worked on projects utilizing the equipment he was provided. With career aspirations of becoming a video game and application developer, he was able to create his very own virtual reality game and environment.

Roberts is thankful for faculty members like Dr. Carmen Gomes and Dr. Jonathan Classen for their continued help and support throughout his matriculation at Bethune-Cookman University.
