Me Too Movement Founder brings anti-s*xual violence tour to Alabama State University

“Me Too Movement” pioneer Tarana Burke is bringing her HBCU Me Too anti-s*xual violence tour to Alabama State University on Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Ralph D. Abernathy Auditorium.

The Fireside Chat promotes s*xual Assault Awareness Month and addresses where and how black communities fit into the #MeToo movement.

The event is free and open to the public.

The civil rights activist said s*xual Assault Awareness Month events were few and far between at HBCU campuses and that’s what sparked her tour in April.

Yaba Blay, activist and founder of the #ProfessionalBlackGirl web series, is part of the HBCU tour and will be on ASU campus as well.

The tour stops include: Alabama State University on April 12, North Carolina Central University on April 18 and Florida A&M University on April 19. The tour’s first stop was at Howard University.
